First performed in 1934 and based on a 19th-century legal case as well as initially banned in several major cities, Lillian Hellman’s The Children’s Hour delves into the true nature of honesty and how the impact of words can ruin a career, a relationship, and a person’s life. Directed by Nicholas Kowerko, The Children’s Hourtells the chilling tale of Martha Dobie and Karen Wright, two struggling boarding school teachers who learn the true influence of honesty, dishonesty, eavesdropping, and integrity. (The show includes mature themes)
